Form & Refine is a modern Danish interior design brand founded by architects in 2018. When creating furniture and interior accessories, the brand puts noble materials, form, and quality first, while caring for sustainable development. The designers pay a lot of attention to the careful selection of materials from all over the world, utilizing the best woodworking practices derived from the long Nordic traditions, the richness of traditional craft techniques for processing luxurious alpaca fibers in Bolivia, or collaborating with Portuguese ceramic craftsmen.

Products for interior design by Form and Refine are a combination of artistic design and functionality for everyday use. And at the same time, these are products that never compromise on quality. Designers focus not only on new furniture and interior decoration projects but also support the continuation of Danish design traditions, one of the best examples of which is the Shoemaker chair project, created in 1936 in Odense, Denmark (Werner), refined in detail by successive generations of the Werner family.

Form and Refine is a new generation of brands, committed to protecting the planet, natural manufacturing processes of furniture and interior accessories, and preserving traditional craftsmanship

The brand, caring for sustainable development, chooses local materials adjacent to local craft workshops, thus taking care of reducing the CO₂ carbon footprint and limiting the transportation of raw materials used in creating furniture and interior decorations.

For the production of wooden furniture created in carpentry workshops in Denmark, certified wood from the Damsbo forest in Denmark is used.

The Alcobaça region in Portugal is rich in the occurrence of clay, which is used by local craftsmen to create beautiful Portuguese ceramics made for Form & Refine.

On the other hand, alpaca pillows and throws are originally woven in the Andes region of Bolivia by skilled and experienced artisans who are members of a cooperative of alpaca breeders specializing in alpaca weaving.

Natural materials are at the heart of Form & Refine products

Natural materials have a much smaller impact on CO2 emissions compared to other materials. The Danish brand only uses the most durable and sustainable materials such as wood, brass, stoneware, steel, alpaca, cork, and raw vegetable-tanned leather. The brand does not use chemicals and toxins that could pose a threat to people, animals, and nature.

Wood

The key material for making Form & Refine furniture is high-quality wood, one of the most sustainable materials in the world, with a smaller environmental impact than all other materials. Wood is a naturally renewable material. It lasts a long time, can be recycled and reused, absorbs carbon dioxide, retains heat well, its waste is 100% biodegradable and has a positive impact on physical and mental health. Most of Form & Refine's wood comes from FSC or PEFC certified forests in Europe. Oak and ash are used for projects.

Alpaca

Alpaca fibers are environmentally friendly and maintain their natural character during processing. Form & Refine's alpaca wool is not dyed with chemicals. The Aymara Alpaca collection is made of 100% pure alpaca fiber and is not blended with synthetic or other low-quality materials. Almost exclusively, the natural shades of the alpaca breed are used. Eco-friendly dyes approved for textile production are used in trace amounts for a few textile models.

Non-toxic lacqueres, oils and adhesives are used to create Form and Refine furniture

When creating the brand's product collections, only natural oils and waxes based on water are used. Water-based adhesives are used in wood production. The brand does not use conventional polyurethane lacquers and oils.
